We’re back from Kansas City just ahead of a Kansas ice storm. We had a wonderful time celebrating four years of marriage. Justice got to tag along and experience his first Irish pub and first art gallery. But, his favorite was the big king-sized hotel bed. I Love Hotels

We enjoyed some dinner at O’Dowd’s Little Dublin and dessert from the world-famous Cheescake Factory. We stayed at the newly remodeled Aladdin Hotel which is right in the midst of the new Power and Light District. That area is going to be a lot of fun when everything is finished. Before heading back today, we ate a big breakfast at the City Diner and strolled the halls of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Happy 4th Anniversary A Work of Art

It was good to get away for a little bit. We did miss Ms. Ester, but she had a wonderful time at her Nana and Papa’s. She was pretty crazy after we came home and was having fun being “chased” by Kinley. We’ll close this post with a video of that chase along with some footage from Ester’s space walk on Friday.

Emergency Anniversary

February 14th, 2008

Four years ago today, we stood in front of a crowd of friends and family and made vows to each other. As we walked down the aisle to “Testify” by Rage Against the Machine, we had no clue what we’d bear witness to in the years to come. Since that day in 2004, we’ve lived in four houses, worked five jobs, visited two countries, and would up with two, incredible kids somewhere along the way. Tomorrow, we head to Kansas City to celebrate anniversary number four.

Last night, we were not so celebratory, however. We experienced our first trip as parents to the Emergency Room. Our little Ester injured her arm. Chris was out running at the time and came home to a distraught Mommy and a crying girl. Thankfully, it turned out to be a minor problem which was fixed very quickly once we were seen by the doctor. Uncle Wes happened to be working at the time and was able to keep us company as we waited. Ester is back to normal now, and we’re okay minus a few less hairs due to worry.

Other than that, life is grand. While Chris has been working late due to school conferences this week, Justice has developed a killer grip. This afternoon, he was lying on his play mat, grabbing the dangling animals with the ferocity of Hulk Hogan. Justice turns three months old tomorrow and Ester turned 18 months old on Monday. Clearly, we have a lot of milestones to celebrate this weekend.
