About

After more than ten years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, I grew tired of implementing individual-level solutions to address community-wide problems. That’s when I discovered a new field, Community Psychology, which pursues the values of empowerment, social justice, and grassroots citizen participation from an ecological perspective. In May 2010, I completed my Master’s Degree in Community Psychology at Wichita State University and will complete my Ph.D. by May 2012.  My primary research interest is the development of empowering settings for adolescents and emerging adults, both domestically and abroad, working recently with youth in foster care, adolescents from Nicaragua, and Hispanic/Latino community members. My areas of expertise include program evaluation, mixed methods research, and program consultation.
